Welcome to Kicking the Seat!

Ian Simmons launched Kicking the Seat in 2009, one week after seeing Nora Ephron’s Julie & Julia. His wife proposed blogging as a healthier outlet for his anger than red-faced, twenty-minute tirades (Ian is no longer allowed to drive home from the movies).

The Kicking the Seat Podcast followed three years later and, despite its “undiscovered gem” status, Ian thoroughly enjoys hosting film critic discussions, creating themed shows, and interviewing such luminaries as Gaspar NoéRachel BrosnahanAmy Seimetz, and Richard Dreyfuss.

Ian is a member of the Chicago Film Critics Association. He also has a family, a day job, and conflicted feelings about referring to himself in the third person.

Ep107: Good in Other Things

In this week's second installment (yep, you read that right), Graham returns to the KtS Podcast to help Ian and Matt find good things to say about Ant-Man! It's a wide-ranging chat that covers franchises, fanboys, diversity in filmmaking, and the infestation of missed opportunities that comprises Marvel's latest glorified TV pilot.

Because this is an extra-special episode, Ian keeps the intro brief. But there are still lots of cool goings-on surrounding the KtS Cinematic Universe, such as: The Scooby-DooKtS Contest; HollywoodChicago.com's IndieGoGo campaign; and tomorrow night'sGhostbusters extravaganza at the Music Box Theatre!

Ant-Man may be small potatoes, but Episode 107 is giant-sized fun!

As always, we invite you to follow, like, subscribe to, and share Kicking the Seat on TwitterFacebookiTunes, and Stitcher!
